Unidentified aircraft at Lindholme airfield.

The Bomber Command Bombing School record book mentions an incident on 28th April 1955 when an aircraft, identified as "Quire 23" was seen to take off from Lindholme airfield with an object dangling from the port engine. The pilot was ordered to make a low pass over the control tower so the aircraft could be checked from the ground and a roll of wire was found to be hanging from the aircraft. The pilot then landed safely and the wire was removed. No damage appears to have resulted but the incident is worthy of inclusion here.
