On Wednesday, 29th September 1954 this 92 Squadron aircraft suffered the engine fail during a ground controlled approach to land at Linton on Ouse airfield. The aircraft lost height and the pilot was unable to reach the airfield so ended up making a forced landing a couple of miles short of the airfield. The direction and distance from the airfield would put the forced landing as being in the area of Alne brickworks.
