On 10th August 1954 this 66 Squadron aircraft partially lost power in the engine while flying at 15,000 feet owing to a problem with the fuel filter. The pilot let down through cloud and found that the aircraft was near to an airfield. He was able to make an emergency landing at what later transpired to be Full Sutton airfield but the landing was made fast and heavy which saw the port main tyre burst, the aircraft then swung off the runway and the nose wheel collapse. To stop the aircraft the pilot then raised the undercarriage. The aircraft was badly damaged and was not repaired.
