The aircraft is listed in No.60 Maintenance Unit's record book as being servicable at Linton on Ouse during July 1954. When it was deemed unservicable and how/why this occurred is not known. It was one of several Sabres being deemed servicable at Linton on Ouse this month. At the time this aircraft was on charge with 66 Squadron and was based at Linton on Ouse.
This Sabre was one of a dozen or so that 60 MU passed as servicable at Linton on Ouse during the Summer of 1954. Most, or perhaps all, were probably modification-related, rather than damaged aircraft that required work.
