Exacly why this Fleet Air Arm aircraft was at Topcliffe airfield is not known. On 16th March 1954 the 824 Squadron aircraft was being taxied on the perimeter track at Topcliffe when the starboard wheel left the concrete and it sunk into soft ground. The aircraft then tipped on it's nose and overturned. The aircraft was repaired and went to the French Navy in 1957.
