On 16th February 1954 this 19 Squadron aircraft suffered the starboard main tyre stripping the tread on take off. Some of the fragments struck and severed the brake airline which meant that the brakes failed on landing at Church Fenton airfield. The pilot could not prevent the aircraft from overshooting the runway and it ran into a ditch. The damage was later repaired.
