On 6th March 1954 the pilot of this 616 Squadron aircraft made a belly landing in error at night at Finningley airfield. One of the ventral tanks burst and while the aircraft was damaged, it was repaired.
Pilot - F/Lt Harold Blow DFC RAF (158577).
Harold Blow was awarded the DFC for service with 9 Squadron, Gazetted on 30th June 1944. He was killed on 22nd May 1954 when 616 Squadron Meteor WH278 crashed around two miles north west of Sandtoft airfield. He is buried at City Road Cemetery, Sheffield.
