A Cat.3R damage assessment was made against this aircraft on 8th January 1954. At the time it was on charge with the Central Gunnery School and was based at Leconfield airfield. It was repaired on site and was noted by 60 MU being servicable in February 1954. What caused the damage assessment to be made is not yet known. It is highly unlikely to have been flying accident related because the CGS record book lists all such incidents and this is not amongst them.
