Meteor F.8 WK677 damaged in the air, (probably) landed at Church Fenton airfield.

The 72 Squadron operational records are missing from the National Archives AIR27 downloadable series which could mean they no longer exist or the station record book for Church Fenton airfield also doubled as their record book. I have yet to view the station records for the post-war period for Church Fenton. Information located by historian Graham Sharpe has come across basic information that on 15th July 1954 two 72 Squadron aircraft, Meteor WK677 and Meteor WA831 collided in the air while their pilots were carrying out a mock attack on a Sabre. The aircraft later landed, probably back at Church Fenton airfield, and the damage was later repaired. A short time after this incident a large scale RAF practice named Exercise Dividend took place and it may well be that this earlier incident occurred while preparing for this.
