This aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 20th May 1954. At the time it was on charge with No.215 Advanced Flying School and was based at Finningley. The unit ceased flying training on 21st April 1954 and was in process of closing down and disbanding during May. As the unit records are fairly lengthy in recording flying mishaps I assume that this one was not damaged in a flying incident, but may have been discovered damaged during some form of transfer inspection. It is not listed in the 60 MU records, they did most of the on site repairs at the time. Who repaired it is unclear. It appears to have been transferred to 12 FTS on completion of the repair in August 1954.
