Meteor T.7 WG994 at Driffield airfield.

The No.8 Flying Training School record book states that between 11th and 15th November 1954 a Court of Inquiry was held into a taxying accident between Meteors WG994 and WH182. When the incident occurred is not stated though was probably a maximum of two days before the 11th November 1954.

Pilot - Name unknown.

This aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 8th December 1954. Given that it must have been damaged in the earlier taxying accident, to be then repaired and further damaged less than a month later seems unlikely. The Cat.3R assessment may actually turn out to have been a re-assessment and a Re-Cat.3 assessment. The damage was later reassessed and upgraded to Re-Cat.4 in February 1955. It was then transported to Flight Refuelling Ltd. at Tarrant Rushton for a repair in works.
