On 25th February 1954 a Cat.4R damage assessment was made against this aircraft. At the time it was on charge with 19 Squadron and was based at Church Fenton. What caused the initial damage assessment to be made is not yet known. Before it was sent for a repair in works 60 MU re-assessed it and downgraded the damage assessment to Re-Cat.3R and it was then repaired on site, with 60 MU noting it being servicable in April 1954.
