The aircraft is listed in No.60 Maintenance Unit's record book in January 1955 as being given a Re-Cat.3 damage assessment to be made servicable for a surplus repair. What made it unservicable, when this occurred, or whether any damage was down to a flying incident, are not known. One assumes it was in late-1954. At the time this aircraft was on charge with No.228 Operational Conversion Unit and was based at Leeming.
The aircraft is further listed in the 60 MU orb as having the Cat.3 repair complete in February 1955.
