On 5th February 1954 this Central Gunnery School aircraft was slightly damaged when it was struck by a 20mm shell on the windscreen after pulling up from a live firing attack on a target on the gunnery range off Skipsea. Despite the damage the pilot went on to land normally at Leconfield airfield.
