On 26th January 1954 this 264 Squadron aircraft ran out of fuel on a training flight in the York area. The pilot was not able to make it back to base at Linton on Ouse airfield so attempted forced landing on the disused Acaster Malbis airfield but the runway was obstructed by farming equipment. The aircraft collided with various things and was damaged.
