The aircraft is listed in No.60 Maintenance Unit's record book as being made servicable on site during the month of March 1954. What caused an earlier damage assessment to be made and when this occurred are not known. It was probably a Cat.2 damage assessment rather than anything higher. At the time this aircraft was on charge with the Central Gunnery School and was based at Leconfield.
It had been damaged at Leconfield on 16th July 1953 but this would appear to be too far back in time for it to only be made servicale eight months later.
