This aircraft had a Cat.4R damage assessment made against it on 3rd November 1954. At the time the aircraft was on charge with No.8 Flying Training School and was based at Driffield. What caused the damage assessment to be made is not known. The unit records spepfically state that there were no flying accidents during November 1954. It was transported to No.6 MU at Brize Norton for a repair in works but on 1st December 1954 it was reassessed there and the damage upgraded to Re-Cat.5 which saw it being struck off charge.
