This aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 9th September 1954. At the time it was on charge with No.8 Flying Training School and was based at Driffield. The aircraft was further assessed by No.60 Maintenance Unit at Driffield during October 1954, presumably as they were part way through a repair, with the damage upgraded to Re-Cat.4R. In November 1954 it was further assessed by someone else who deemed it as unrepairable and further upgraded the damage to Re-Cat.5(c) which saw it being struck off charge.
