On 11th June 1954 this No.8 Flying Training School aircraft was one of several that were in the process of undertaking a formation take off at Driffield airfield when this aircraft was seen lagging behind. The pilot then opened up the throttles too rapidly which caused a swing to port. The pilot then raised the undercarriage to stop the aircraft before it ran off the airfield. The incident is not mentioned in the unit record book.
