A Cat.3R damage assessment was made against this aircraft on 17th February 1954. At the time it was on charge with No.215 Advanced Flying School and was based at Finningley airfield. The damage assessment was reassessed by 60 MU in March 1954 and upgraded it to Re-Cat.4R. On 8th May 1954 and it was further upgraded to Re-Cat.5(c) which saw it being struck off charge.
What caused the initial damage assessment to be made is not yet known.
