x3 Meteors damaged in the air, (probably) landed at Finningley airfield.

The 616 Squadron record book makes mention that during March 1954 three aircraft suffered damage caused by bird strikes in flight. All aircraft were undertaking a low level formation flying cross country flight when they hit the sea gulls while flying in the low flying area (probably in the Skipsea area?). One aircraft suffered mainplane damage, one a damaged engine nacelle and one a damaged tailplane. No date is recorded and the pilot's names are also not listed. The aircraft would probably have been 616 Squadron Meteors and they all probably made it back to their base at Finningley to land.
