Meteor T.7 WN319 at Finningley airfield.

On 26th October 1953 this aircraft suffered the starboard undercarriage leg being jammed in the retracted position prior to making a landing at Finningley airfield. The pilot went on to make a belly landing on the airfield. It was found that the up-lock operating rod had detached.

The incident is mentioned in the No.215 Advanced Flying School orb which suggests it was on charge with this unit at the time but the aircraft's service records list it as being on charge with No.209 Advanced Flying School and was based at Weston Zoyland at the time. It was repaired on site by 60 MU and was servicable in March 1954, after which it was taken on charge by No.215 AFS. It may have been on the delivery flight at the time of the incident in October 1953.
