This aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 29th September 1953. At the time the aircraft was on charge with the Central Gunnery School and was based at Leconfield. The damage assessment was upgraded to Re.Cat.4R on 18th January 1954 and it was sent to No.32 MU at St.Athan for a repair in works the following month. What caused the in itial damage assessment to be made is not known.
