On 12th October 1953 this aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it. At the time it was on charge with 19 Squadron and was based at Church Fenton. What caused the damage assessment to be made is not known. It was reported to have been repaired on site and being returned to 19 Squadron charge on 1st December 1953. The aircraft is not listed in No.60 Maintenance Unit's record book as being repaired on site by them and they appear to have normally repaired Cat.3R assessments in Yorkshire. The damage may therefore have been downgraded to Re-Cat.2 and was therefore repaired by a home airfield based team.
