On 29th December 1953 this 215 Advanced Flying School aircraft was flying in the area south of Finningley when it lost height during a turn prior to flying an approach to land at Finningley airfield. Unfortunately it then flew into a 66,000 volt power line north of Austerfield and crashed near the Austerfield Pumping Station for the Doncaster and Tickhill Joint Water Board. The pilot was killed in the crash.
