On 1st October 1953 this No.207 Adavnced Flying School aircraft was being flown on a stalling training exercise when a turbine blade in the port engine failed whilst in the air. The port engine caught fire but the pilot went on to land safely at Full Sutton. The damage was initially declared Cat.3R but on 10th November 1953 this was upgraded to Re-Cat.4R and it was dispatched to Gloster Aircraft Ltd. for a repair in works.
