On 8th September 1953 this No.215 Advanced Flying School aircraft suffered the starboard engine failing in flight, this then caused excessive heat damage to the airframe prior to the pilot being able to land, presumably back at Finningley where the unit was based.
Pilot - P/O Hughes.
The aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it but this was then upgraded to Re.Cat.4R on 21st October 1953 and it was then transported to Flight Refuelling Ltd at Tarrant Rushton for a repair in works.
