Meteor T.7 WH124 forced landing, location unknown.

Only very basic information in respect of this incident is known and this comes purely from the unit record book. This states that on 2nd February 1953 this 215 Advanced Flying School aircraft ran out of fuel, the pilot then went on to make a belly landing with the wheels up. Unfortunately the location is not stated and it is probably correct to assume that it was not on the airfield at Finningley where the unit was based. I need more information.

Instructor - F/Lt Albert Edward Whichelo RAF (55736).

Student - P/O "P A Swindall" (possibly P/O Richard Alec Swindall RAF (2531441)).

The unit records name the student as being "P/O P A Swindall" but there does not appear to have been an officer in the RAF with these initials. There was P/O Richard Alec Swindall. Wellingborough School.org published a detailed obituary for him in 2021 and it that it states that he was a National Service Meteor pilot. It also states that he was involved in a crash landing at RAF Cranfield.
