On 2nd March 1953 the pilot of this Central Gunnery School aircraft was making an approach to land at Leconfield in poor visibility when he got confused with the flaps and undercarriage levers. He pushed the flap lever instead of the undercarriage and then went on to make a belly landing at Leconfield airfield.
