This aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 18th April 1953. At the time it was on charge with the Central Gunnery School and was based at Leconfield so any damage assessment was probably made there. What caused the damage assessment to be made is not known. The aircraft later assessed again and the damage assessment was upgraded to Re.Cat.4R, this then saw it sent to Gloster Aircraft Ltd for a repair in works.
