The No.60 Maintenance Unit record book lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable in 1953. For this aircraft it states that it was servicable during the month of April 1953 at Leeming. It was presumably assessed as damaged there a few months prior to this. At the time it was probably on charge with No.228 Operational Conversion Unit, based at Leeming. What caused the damage assessment to be made is not known.
This may have been ones of the unidentified Meteors damaged at Leeming either on 24th February 1953 or 31st March 1953.
