On 14th March 1953 the pilot of this Central Gunnery School aircraft was flying back toward Leconfield airfield with the cockpit canopy covered in condesation. With visibility restricted the aircraft stalled just above the ground short of the runway and it landed heavily in the undershoot area. The undercarriage was damaged and the aircraft broke it's back but the pilot appears to have escaped injury.
Pilot - F/O R F Cooper (possibly F/O Robert Frank Cooper RAF (4044909)).
