The No.60 Maintenance Unit record book lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable in 1953. For this aircraft it states that it was servicable during the month of June 1953 at Thornaby. It was presumably assessed as damaged there a few months prior to this. At the time it would have been on charge with 608 Squadron and based at Thornaby. What caused the damage assessment to be made is not known.
