The No.60 Maintenance Unit record book lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable in 1953. For this aircraft it states that it was servicable during the month of May 1953 at Leconfield. It was presumably assessed as damaged there a few months prior to this. At the time it would have been on charge with the Central Gunnery School and based at Leconfield. What caused the initial damage assessment to be made is not confirmed but it may have been sustained in a crash at Valley in September 1952, 60 MU later assessed it as servicable in May 1953 when it arrived back at Leconfield following the repair at Valley.
