On 16th July 1953 this Central Gunnery School aircraft was struck by debris thrown up during an air gunnery firing exercise. The pilot went on to make a normal landing at Leconfield airfield. The damage was probably assessed as Cat.2 and would have been repaired on site at Leconfield.
