On 27th May 1953 this No.203 Advanced Flying School aircraft is believed to have lost engine turbine blades whilst in flight which then caused damage to the wing spar. The pilot went on to land normally, probably back at his home airfield at Driffield but this is not confirmed. A Cat.3R damage assessment was made and it appears to have been repaired on site with it returned to service just a week later.

The No.60 Maintenance Unit record book lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasking with making servicable in 1953 and where. For this aircraft there is no mention at all, this may suggest it landed well outside the area that No.60 MU covered repairs, it has simply just been missed off their records or it was repaired locally by ground crew at Driffield and not No.60 M.U..
