On 1st September 1953 this 215 Advanced Flying School aircraft suffered the ventral tank explode in the air owing to over-pressurisation. The aircraft received some damage to the lower fuselage though the pilot went on to land at Finningley airfield. It was made servicable on site by 60 MU in December 1953.
