Unidentified Meteor at Finningley airfield.

On an unknown date in May 1953 this 616 Squadron aircraft sunk on take off from Finningley airfield at night, the undercarriage had been raised early and the port engine nacelle scraped the runway causing minor damage. The pilot took off then landed normally a short time later.

This incident may be the same incident as Meteor WH263 damaged on 2nd May 1943 whilst in the care of No.616 Squadron at Finningley.
