The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2096) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable in 1953. For this aircraft it states that it was servicable during the month of March 1953 at Church Fenton. Given it would take time to repair it, any damage assessment would have taken place in 1952 or perhaps in early 1953.
The aircraft was on charge with No.609 Squadron at the time (who were based at Church Fenton) and after repair remained with them until 1956 when it was sold as scrap. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
