On an unknown date in January 1953 the pilot of this unidentified 228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft accidentally moved the undercarriage lever to the retract position when the aircraft was on the ground and the nose wheel then collapsed. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted. The unit record book scribe made a poor job of detailing flying accidents during this period. I have yet to search through accident records at the RAF Museum for additional information.
