On 30th May 1953 this No.203 Advanced Flying School aircraft lost engine turbine blades in flight which then caused damage to the engine nacelle. The pilot went on to land normally, back at Driffield airfield where the unit was based.

It was initially assessed as having Cat.3R damage and No.60 M.U. began to work on a repair at Driffield. In July 1953 something more major must have been found as the damage assessment was upgraded to Re.Cat.4R. This saw it sent to No.32 M.U. at St.Athan in August for a repair in works. In April 1954 the damage assessment was further upgraded to Re.Cat.5(c) and it was struck off charge.
