The information shown here comes from handwritten notes given to me by historian Albert Pritchard and I have not located any primary evidence to confirm it. Stated as being on 27th March 1953 this aircraft suffered engine failure not long after taking off for a flight from Yeadon airfield to West Hartlepool (Greatham). The pilot made a forced landing was made at or near to Yeadon airfield at around 13.00hrs and while the undercarriage collapsed but the pilot was unhurt. At the time of this incident the aircraft was owned by Thomas Ratcliffe and Co.Ltd., Moderna Mills, Mytholmroyd, Yorkshire but was operated by North East Flying Services. It appears to have been based at both Sherburn in Elmet and Yeadon airfields. The aircraft was repaired and was airworthy as late as 2016.
Pilot - Mr Frank Elliot.
