On 18th September 1952 this 616 Squadron aircraft overshot following a landing at dusk at Finningley airfield. The aircraft ran on to rough ground and came to rest in a quarry in the overshoot area. This damage appears to have seen the aircraft converted into a Ground Instructional Airframe 7005M. There were a number of gravel pits around the airfield and the aircraft probably crashed into one of these.
