On 26th May 1952 a collision occurred in the air between two 66 Squadron aircraft during a formation flying exercise. The aircraft were Meteor WH272 and Meteor VZ520. Both pilots were able to land their aircraft normally, probably back at Linton on Ouse airfield where the squadron was based. The damage to this aircraft was repaired.
