On 8th February 1952 this No.203 Advanced Flying School aircraft was being flown when the pilot lost control in the air, while he managed to regain control and land safely (probably at Driffield where the unit was based) after inspection it was found to have suffered skin wrinkling. It was initially deemed as Cat.3R but on 26th March 1952 this was upgraded to Re.Cat.4R and was taken to Gloster Aircraft Ltd for a repair in works.
The unit record book does not list the incident specifically but does state that during February 1952, three accidents took place and this involved two instructors and a pupil pilot flying solo. This was probably one of the three but details of the other two remain unknown.
