Meteor T.7 WF882 damaged in the air, landed at Driffield airfield.

On 11th March 1952 this 203 Advanced Flying School aircarft suffered damage as the result of a bird strike. The pilot probably landed at Driffield airfield where the unit was based. A Cat.3R damage assessment was made against this aircraft and it was repaired on site by 60 MU, with it servicable in April 1952.

The unit record book does not list the incidents where damage occurred specifically but does state that four accidents occurred in March 1952. They involved a student (Meteor VT326 in a fatal accident at Settrington), two instructors and a fatal accident to the Station Medical Officer (at Morton in Marsh). Meteor RA379 was damaged in a heavy landing in March 1952 and may have involved one of the instructors. WF882 may not be included the number of four damaged.
