On 29th February 1952 this 66 Squadron aircraft collided in the air with Meteor WH342 during a formation flying exercise over York. Both aircraft sustained damage. Meteor WH342 crashed into York with fatal results. The pilot of Meteor WE961 was able to make a safe landing, probably back at Linton on Ouse airfield.
