Meteor F.8 WE855 at Church Fenton airfield.

On 7th August 1952 this 19 Squadron aircraft was being taxied at Church Fenton when it skidded and hit an obstruction.

Pilot - F/O Leslie William Phipps RAF (3117549)

This officer was later awarded the Air Force Cross and rose to the rank of AVM.
