Meteor NF.11 WD757 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 9th December 1952 this 228 Operational Conversion Unit was flown on a training flight. The crew were diverted to land away from Leeming toward Linton on Ouse airfield. This may have been because Meteor WH240 had ran off the end of the runway and Leeming and was a hazard to other landing aircraft. On the approach to land at Linton on Ouse airfield the radio of WD757 failed. The pilot undershot the initial landing but appears to have then applied power and climbed away. Believing the undercarriage was damaged he then went on to make a belly landing on Linton on Ouse airfield.
