On 24th July 1952 this 92 Squadron aircraft was in flight when the hood disintergrated, as a result of this the tail was also struck and slightly damaged. Despite this, the pilot went on to land safely, probably back at base of Linton on Ouse. The squadron undertook an exercise at West Raynham during the month but the unit records, firstly, do not mention the incident, or state when they returned to Linton on Ouse. A Cat.2 damage assessment was made and it was repaired on site.
